About the programme
The Graduate Diploma in Property Management is an NZQF Level 7 programme at Lincoln University offering intensive preparation for degree holders who want to work in property management. It carries 120 credits and normally takes 1 year of full-time study, with longer part-time options available.
The university describes it as an advanced, intensive programme that builds the knowledge and skills needed for fast-track entry into specialist property management firms, or for working as a consultant or self-employed. Prospective students are asked to contact the university before applying so that course advice can be tailored to them.
The plan includes four compulsory courses: principles of urban property management, resource management law, property analytical methods, and property and facilities management. Four electives are added, two of which must be at 300 level. Electives cover land economics, building facilities management, property law, project planning and management, property investment and portfolio analysis, valuation of investment property, property development and principles of valuation.
The programme therefore combines a legal and economic foundation with applied methods for analysing, valuing and managing property. A course advisor helps ensure the chosen courses form a coherent programme.
It suits graduates from other fields who want to move quickly into property management or to set up their own practice in the sector.
