About the programme

The Master of Information Technology is a NZQF Level 9 programme at Whitireia & WelTec worth 180 credits that builds on existing IT knowledge and develops expertise in a chosen field over 18 months of full-time study.

Students complete at least 180 credits from Level 8 and Level 9 courses, most of them 15 credits each, and can follow one of three pathways to the degree. Research topics can be drawn from a broad range: data mining, cloud computing, business analysis and business intelligence, ICT infrastructure, information management, mobile app development, network design and management, security and forensics, quality assurance, machine learning, artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.

Delivery is blended and based at the Petone campus. On-campus classes and specialist facilities are complemented by online resources that can be fitted around work and personal life. The degree can be finished in 18 months full-time or spread over as long as five years part-time.
