About the programme

The Postgraduate Diploma in Business is an NZQF Level 8 programme at ICL Graduate Business School that provides advanced training in professional business practice over 12 months. It is worth 120 credits.

The diploma deepens both theoretical and practical business knowledge and shows how to apply it across different business situations. Its eight papers were designed by Southern Cross University and cover core management skills: leadership, entrepreneurship, project management, marketing, economics and accounting for managers, as well as organisational behaviour and global business management.

Study runs over three 16-week trimesters and consists of four Level 8 papers and four Level 9 papers, each worth 15 credits. The Level 8 papers deal with accounting for managers, 21st-century marketing, organisational behaviour and leadership, and economics for managers. The Level 9 papers cover global business management, entrepreneurship and marketing, project management, and contemporary leadership and management.

In line with the standard for postgraduate diplomas, graduates are expected to hold advanced knowledge in their field and to analyse, critique and solve problems rigorously. The programme suits business graduates or people with relevant work experience who want to move into management roles within a year. Students must bring their own laptop or tablet.

Graduates can target roles in project management, marketing, operations, HR, consulting and financial analysis.
