About the programme
The Master of Management (Project Management) is an NZQF Level 9 degree at ICL Graduate Business School that combines general management with advanced training in project and programme management. It is worth 180 credits and takes 12 months.
The programme builds on undergraduate study in business, management or a related field. Core management and leadership principles are paired with specialist skills in project planning, execution, governance and evaluation. Students critically review current management theory, carry out applied research and learn to take a strategic, analytical approach in constantly changing conditions.
Graduates should be able to plan, steer and review large projects and programmes with advanced methodologies, governance frameworks and risk management principles. The programme walks through the whole project lifecycle: allocating resources, reducing risk, managing teams and stakeholders, and delivering results that match organisational goals. It favours culturally responsive approaches that work in different countries.
The curriculum consists of eight 15-credit papers, including project portfolio management and sustainable project leadership, plus a 60-credit applied project. Study runs over three 16-week trimesters. Graduates can work in construction, IT, consulting, healthcare, government and infrastructure. Students must bring their own laptop or tablet.
Graduates should also be able to analyse and present project data and performance metrics to support decisions.
